Argentina takes flight for the 2014 World Cup

Argentina planeAerolineas Argentinas has unveiled the livery of the plane it will fly the Argentine team from Buenos Aires to Brazil for the World Cup. The Argentine team, one of the tournament favourites, is due to arrive in Brazil on 9 June and will be based at Cidade do Galo in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais.

Argentina’s schedule starts with a game against Bosnia-Herzegovina in the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro on 15 June. That is followed by games against Iran on 21 June at the Mineirão in Belo Horizonte and Nigeria on 25 June at the Beira-Rio in Porto Alegre.

Brazil’s TAM Airlines has also released photos of Brazilian star David Luiz returning to Brazil from London on their flight from Heathrow to São Paulo.

British Airways increases flights from London to São Paulo

British_Airways_Boeing_747-400_leaving_townBritish Airways is to increase its direct weekly services to-and-from London’s Heathrow Airport and São Paulo on 1 June 2014 from seven to ten using 747-400s (photo). British Airways also offers a daily service between London and Rio de Janeiro.

The other airline offering direct non-stop service between London and São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro is TAM Airlines from Brazil.

As of 1 April 2014 both will be members of oneWorld.
